So far, throughout these last 3 years attending Century High School, I couldn't imagine myself attending or transferring to any other school, even if I could do it all over again. Century maintains a positive and cheerful environment for all students, staff, and visitors. Everyone is treated equally and with respect, which gives a feeling of being a part of a huge family. But, one of the events I have experienced that will live on with me forever is an assembly that occurred my Sophomore year. A little girl named Keira Conner, the daughter of a Century teachers, comes in with her mother and father. Keira was diagnosed with a rare disorder called a Congential Disorder of Glycosylation in 2012. It effected every part of her life, which had most the school extremely emotion when hearing the explanation of the disorder which included seizures, deafness and the difficulty breathing. Century High School adopted Keira as their "Sparrow". Fully invested in the vast majority of fundraisers that went towards Keira's treatment, Century never gave up hope. Although I, myself, did not personally know Keira or her family, she not only touched the lives of many that did personally know her, but mine as well. Unfortunately, Keira peacefully passed away on April 14th, 2016 at Doernbecher Children's Hospital, breaking the hearts of many, including all of Century High School. Her spirit lives on with us everyday. Students have made pink bracelets and t-shirts, pink being her favorite color, with the words "Team Keira". When I attended the National Leadership Conference at Century, students from all over the state made blankets to donate to Dorenbecher Children's Hospital. Century goes above and beyond for their staff members and community, and what was done for Keria is what makes Century High School such an extraordinary school to attend.

What makes this school unique is that this school always have help for everyone they will try to find out a way to help you out if they can. Also this school likes to help the community a lot by giving food to the family of our community or to other communities.
