My high school experiences have been memorable. The teachers are great. Sports are great. The only thing I would like to see change is the same importance on all sports and just not football. As a female high school athlete that played sports it is important to recognize female athletes and teams as much as male football athletes.
Red Mountain has given me a great high school experience. We have a great involvement for our sports teams. Our student section for football games makes it a blast for several games. Red Mountain gives many students opportunities to try sports. I made the Pom team and had the best 4 years on my team. The academics are typically pretty good, but like at every school you have some hard teachers. Overall the teachers are always willing to help you get through high school with good grades.
I didn't have a bad experience with high school, my only complaint I think is how hard they make it to join any sports team! This is kind of for most high schools now, but it is way too competitive for just a high school level. They expect you to have played the sport since you were little to even be considered for freshman or JV teams. It creates an unfair advantage and I think it doesn't allow a lot of students to try new things and gain new experiences and have a team or group for support during high school. It makes high school feel more isolating and lonely.
Overall my experience at this school has been good. We are strong in academics and sports which is why I choose to attend. Especially for the variety of college/AP classes available and electives that aren't found at any other school near by like BioMed.
My overall experience with this high school has been very positive. I've gotten good teachers every year who want to see me succeed. The counselors always make sure we choose the right classes and get what we want. And, the coaches are extremely nice and approachable.
The quality of the teachers at this school had its ups and downs, some of which did not care about their students and their success while others were extremely knowledgeable and caring. This school is very big on sports, especially football, and accommodating of student athletes. There were also many clubs and activities to choose from, allowing for most students to feel included. And overall, there were many good opportunities for getting ahead in college, such as large AP and Dual Enrollment programs.
Red Mountain High School has so many opportunities to take advantage of. Most of the teachers are very involved and work hard to make the school a better place. You can easily find people to connect with and who you have things in common with through sports and clubs. I have had a great experience so far and am able to do my best in and out of my classes. I am in the engineering pathway and I get to learn about so many different things, from laser cutting to building circuits. I am also on a sports team and have been able to push myself to do my best while making many friends along the way. Most days, I have interesting coursework and learn many new things. The teachers are friendly and want to help you to succeed.
There are nice facilities and classrooms. Academics are taken seriously with a variety of caring teachers. Lots of resources within the classrooms. Photography and graphic design have cameras. Arts have supplies. Calculators in math and science classes.
Red Mountain High School is a great high school in the Mesa Public School district. The best parts about this school are the academic and athletic opportunities. For example, Red Mountain is one of the only schools in the city that has a full biomedical sciences program. Its athletics teams, facilities, and coaches are high quality. One thing I would like to see changed is for the school to stop locking all of the boy's bathrooms in the school.
There are a wide variety of classes at Red Mountain that cater to the differing interests of students. All of my AP teachers are passionate about what they teach and it translates into my interest in these subjects and my academic success. There is a noticeable lack of motivation in students that take advanced courses and those who don't.
Mostly good but I felt like the teachers and counselors don’t always listen to the students. There were a lot of students that felt unheard
Red Mountain High School has provided me with a lot of opportunities to be a part of the student and social life on campus, making the high school experience so much better. Red Mountain offers a lot of clubs and sports and I participate in the RM Softball program, which is where I made so many of my closest friends and met the greatest mentors. All of the teachers that I have had while attending Red Mountain truly care about you and what you are going through, and were always open to talk. I also could get help with my grades and studies through teachers or my own peers! This offered easy and reliable sources to help me study for upcoming exams or tests where I needed the most help. I think overall Red Mountain has a great atmosphere with great teachers and I will truly miss all the people that I was able to create bonds with when I leave for college.
Overall Red Mountain was a great experience. I just graduated in May of 2023 and I can say confidentially that the goods always outweighed the bads. There are so many different clubs and electives that really help you find your place and meet your people. The assembly’s and dances were always such a blast. The teacher were overall great but there were some teachers that weren’t as helpful as others. All teachers have different teaching methods but I always hated the style of having the students learn themselves with little help from the teacher. I’m a very hands on and watching the teacher help us understand materials. I think some teachers could also be a little more passionate and understanding to students when they’re going through a rough time. But despite a few teachers the staff is very welcoming and accepting of all students. My mom is a teacher at Red Mountain and her colleagues and her have always been so nice to me and my friends. The school really is a great environment!
It was amazing. The teachers were really helpful when needed. I felt safe going to school everyday and I felt prepared for the future ahead of me.
Red Mountain is an amazing school! The staff genuinely cares about your success. To them you are not just another quota to meet, but a whole person. You have goals that they care about and work to help you achieve. Not to mention the programs there are diverse, well-funded, and enjoyable. There is literally something for everyone. The only big down side is the typical high school shenanigans. Vaping in the bathrooms, lousy parking, and long lunch lines. Its the education and faculty that really shine though. Its totally worth it.
I haven't started yet. I spent a day shadowing and it is large and overwhleming. So far I don't have anything to add or change.
The atmosphere at Red Mountain High School is good. There are many teachers there that are good at helping you find what you need and help along the way but there are few teachers that really truly push you for more. I found some very good friends at red mountain but also was met with some not so great people. The athletics program here is good as well but I did not personally enjoy my particular coach and feel like you are missing a push for more with some of the coaches here. I would like to see more teachers here that are enthusiastic to all students and really go the extra mile. There are many good teachers but not many great ones.
